what kind of freebies did ur uni give out on freshers fair?

Mine gave out:
posters
cookies & biscuits
loads and loads and loads of leaflets... cant beat that (!)
pens
notebook
condom (!)

anyone's uni actually give out something useful?

A mug, and a piggy bank from Natwest, oh and the condom of course. Chocolate bars, rulers, pencils, no alcohol though, although it would be nice becuse i'm drunk already

I'd say that the pens, notebook and condom are all very useful items (even if not used for what they were originally intended, i.e. condoms make very good emergency water carriers, as long as you can put up with the aftertaste of spermicidal lubricant in your water of course). :smile:

I got a tea towel, 2 keyings, pens (including a UV pen from the police to mark all my stuff with), posters, sweets, free entry vouchers for a load of clubs in Norwich, cinema posters, umm thats about it really. Some stall was giving out popcorn makers but I couldn't be arsed to sit and fill out the survey in order to get one.

Multiple condoms, pens, rulers, shotglasses, key rings, chocolate, popcorn, mugs.... nothing very exciting, not sure what I was expecting though.

Yeah mine was pretty rubbish too. Lots of stalls were giving out things but to get anything more than sweets you had to join all the socities. Also there were these really horrible pot noddles - bacon flovour - avoid them!
