Hi I'm applying for med again after taking a year off and was wondering whether i can use the same reference letter as from the previous year.
When i requested my school for a letter they just provided me the same letter dated this year instead...is this ok??

Contact the med school, but I expect so. Just tell them they were unwilling to update as you have left school and they claim lack of resources.
The only issue I can see is predicted grades would be needed , which can have been resolved if you already have your grades. Just talk to them and ask them how they wish to play it.
