@University of Liverpool Student Rep My daughter firmed Liverpool and applied for accomm in April. Should she have heard about room allocation by now or do the emails only go out after results day?

They should go out about a week or so after results day.

Hi there,

The room offers will be sent out from Monday onwards, this will be in batches so could be later in the week.

Last year there were slots on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Will it be the same this year? Or just the Saturday/Sunday (16/17th)

Hi there,

There may be slots on the Friday (15th), however this is to be confirmed.

Once you accept your accommodation offer, how long before you are allocated a specific block/room?

Hi there,

You should get your room number at some point in September, ahead of you moving into the halls

Let me know if you have any other questions regarding the University's accommodation.

Hi. I’ve got a few questions about ‘moving in’ day.
My daughter has her slot for Crown Place.
How does the parking work? Will there be bays available or do we have to park at a nearby multi-storey for unloading? If there are bays, which road are they on? I assume she’ll need to go to reception with ID to get her key? Does the Uni have any trolleys to help or not?

Thanks

I have a similar question - do you know if the uni car parks will be open on Sat/Sun 16/17 like they are on open days? Specifically the one between Harold Cohen library and Crown Street, and the central one accessed via Peach Street.

Hi there,

Sorry I didn't pick up this question until today. I hope you managed to park up okay. Best of luck with starting University.

When do Liverpool students start signing up for 2nd year accommodation, are there any private letting companies you recommend, and any particular areas? Thanks.

So I’m a little confused. I’ve read comments re submitting accommodation preferences in January. Will the University therefore have sent out all offers by then? Is it on a first come first served basis?

Hi,

I'm looking to study next year, September 2024, as a mature student. Wondering if I choose to study at student halls can I request to live with other mature or postgraduate students. Also are there any catered halls? Looks like they have all been converted to self-catered as per official UoL accommodation page.

Accommodation is allocated in August unless you have an unconditional offer. It's on a first-come, first-served basis based off of time you applied until January.

You can live with other mature students (this will be done automatically) but postgraduates usually live in separate halls (although there are a small number of exceptions). You'll likely get put in a flat in regular halls with other mature students. All halls are now self-catered but Vine Court has pay-as-you-go food:

Vine Court has an excellent pay as you go on-site restaurant, plus a launderette, large student chill-out mezzanine area and outdoor spaces for socialising. (https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/accommodation/find-accommodation/vine-court/)

What will you be studying?

Hi there,

Most students move into private accommodation in their 2nd year, there is huge amount of choice. I would recommend that you should use liverpool student homes (https://www.liverpoolstudenthomes.org/Accommodation) to search, as there is no providers who have high-quality accommodation on there that has to meet a set a minimum of standards.

In terms of different areas, the city centre, Smithdown Road, and Kensington are all popular areas to live in.
