how would you start an introduction in an essay?

I am struggling to start an introduction for some reason?? I am studying LLB Law by the way.
Really depends if essay or problem.

I mostly write essay ones last and say

In x v y lord x said blah bald blah (ie summarise the quote given to discuss ). In this essay I will argue that this is untrue as x y and a.

You get the idea.

keep it simple.
"in this essay, I am going to argue that ..."
you might want to briefly summarise the main arguments for/against
no reason why it should be longer than 2-3 sentences, the more words/time you save up for your main paragraphs, the better

if in doubt there's no shame in emailing the lecturer, these kind of questions were super common back when i was a first and second year
