Calculate the maximal increase in conformational entropy in a protein when
mutating a single alanine to a valine. Convert your answer for a single protein to a
mole of protein by multiplying your result by Avogadro's number, Na, and use
Na*kp=R, where kp is the Boltzman constant and the gas constant, R, has the
value of R = 8.31 Jmol-1K-1
(assume that methyl groups, CH3, have three rotational micro states, for simplicity
assume that a CH group has 3 rotational micro states as well)
Start by drawing the amino acid side chains in question. Show your subsequent
workings step by step and keep all units.
