Can I get compensation for this?

I received a letter in the post from the NHS informing me that they had accidentally leaked my personal health information including my hospital number, name, procedural comments etc. Albeit, they were quite brief and vague about it so in my email I requested that they provided exactly what information was leaked ( so I can consider whether to take things further). They said the leak occurred on the 16th Nov but I didn't get the letter until Mid December!!

Mum and dad think that I can get compensation for this but I'm not sure as no financial loss has occurred. in the letter they said that the information was deleted off the persons phone in front of a senior consultant but who knows the information could've been copied before then...

you could probably go to a solicitor or lawyer, and you probably could sue for GDPR breach or privacy leak. Dont hold me to this tho

Breach of confidentiality would be the starting point, but yes OP, you should definitely look into making a complaint with the ICO.
