Woodhouse college waiting list

hey everyone, so today i got news that i was put on the waiting list for woodhouse. Im planning to take bio chem maths for a levels, and they said they were currently very oversubscribed in that subject. i got 9 8 8 in the subjects so i was a bit confused as to why i didnt get an offer. is there a chance that i will still get in?

There’s quite a high chance that you will get in based on those grades. I applied for the same college to do the same subjects and I got in. My advice is to go to Woodhouse personally on results day and show them your results if you get what you have right now, they’ll let you in. Just make sure to get there as early as possible!!

it could be multiple factors. i applied for biology and chemistry and got in even though i was predicted a 7 in bio and an 8 in chem. your application answers, your reference, etc could all have affected the final decision. you should apply on results day and see, that might help!
Did you get into Woodhouse college?

Hey!

I was also put on the waiting list for woodhouse this year despite getting 7s-9s in my mocks which were went off to the 6th form. Did you end up getting an offer? And if so how long did it take after receiving the initial wait list offer?

Same, I was placed on the waiting list this year as well :frown:
Also, I've heard some of my friends who were also placed on the waiting list are planning to go to Woodhouse on 22nd august/results day and show their results. Is this possible? I assumed that Woodhouse would be closed on the day and would not allow students to negotiate their offer, but right now I'm clinging onto any sort of hope to get into Woodhouse. If it is possible to go to Woodhouse on the day, what would you do once you were there? Would you have to speak to admissions and if so what would you say? ( Sorry about the bombarding of questions. )

Hi,
I sat my A-Levels this June at Woodhouse and I can tell you how my experience was.
I initially was on the waiting list when I applied to Woodhouse in yr11. After results day I ended up getting better than I was predicted. Being on the waiting list still I did not hear anything from them.
After the first official school day in September for new Woodhouse students finished, I received a phone call from someone at Woodhouse who firstly congratulated me for my results and then asked if I was still interested in enrolling. I of course accepted.
The next school day I was told to go to reception where I then was given my timetable.

Since this was 2 years ago I don’t know if they have changed the system of enrolling waitlisted applicants but my advice is to not give hope! Whilst it is an oversubscribed college, not everyone who gets an offer actually enrols by September and therefore waitlisted applicants with good GCSE results will be reconsidered to fill up the remaining spaces!
