I want to learn about physics, so I can use it in business. I'm wanting to learn and have a good time, the degree is not important to me.

I genuinely wanted to learn more about my subject.
The career I want requires me to have a degree- uni is just a stepping stone for me. I'll enjoy it while it lasts though :smile:
Have the opportunity to study law for 3 years. Don't want to go down the Ilex route of becoming a solicitor so I have to do the degree anyway. Also all the other opportunities that come with being at uni - meeting people, hobbies/socs etc.

I wanted to be educated to a decent level, I hoped that I would enjoy the experience of being in a tightly-knit academic community and I thought it would be a nice way to spend four years of my young life.

* I love the academic study of my subject
* I wanted specialist tuition
* I wanted to work with a team of people as focused and commited as I am
* I wanted to be taught by some of the worlds leading academics
* I come from an essentially working class background, my mother wanted to go to university but wasn't able to because she had to work, I feel somewhat obliged to make the most out of the opportunitys I currently have as a girl from a non-affluent background.
* I want to pursue a career directly related to my subject
* I wanted to make industry contacts
* I'm a big ole geek.

I have no real interest in the social/partying side of things. I've lived by myself before and I find I have less independence than before now I'm at uni. My course comes first, before everything else....something which a lot of people in my halls find it hard to comprehend at the moment.
Firstly, it was something I always expected I'd go on to do, seeing as my family are all university educated. Secondly I do actually want to learn more about my subject. And thirdly student life is attractive to me.
