I applied for the BBC Data Science Degree Apprenticeship earlier this year, and have now been invited for an online interview.
I was wondering if anybody else has applied or if anyone has any tips cuz this is so stressful lol

is this for the london one ?
don't worry it's pretty simple questions, nothing too difficult

yeah I have :smile:

; I can't remember much now I did it back at the beginning of Feb, but from what I remember it was typical interview style questions such as strengths etc. no knowledge specific

The stage after the numerical reasoning test is the online HireVue Assessment, and then comes the final interview!

What questions did they ask on the video interview? Need to know what to prepare for i have to do it in the next 2 weeks🫠 and could you retake videos?x

Yes could you send the link and questions they asked you, and was this the one with the coding test as well, codevue assessment

Hi there,

I've been accepted onto the next stage, the Cappfinity online assessment but i'm not sure how to prepare, would you be able to tell me what i'd have to study. I'm not asking for the questions, just to be put in the right direction. Do they ask you coding questions?

They have scenario-based questions to find out if you'd rather work in a team or alone and how independent and naturally curious you are and things.

Then there are multiple choice ones where you have to pick out the valid password according to its rules of how many special characters and punctuation and things.

Then you have to pick the valid sentence that satisfies rules like all names mentioned must start with D and all times mentioned must be between 10am-2pm.

Then you have a string like

$walk_JOG>YELL/4file.doc

and you have several rules like

- if the word ends with a vowel, append ".vowel" to that word
- if there are two numbers in the string, swap every forward slash for a backslash.

and you pick the answer out of five.

---------------------

Then you have maths problems with coded numbers like

A +
B -
C *
D >
E <
F =

and it looks like

[4A4][A1][C4][E][4C4][B1][A3]

i.e.

(4+4)+1*4 = (4*4)-1+3

and you have to pick the correct one out of five. It's not difficult so much as a time-consuming faff. I wouldn't say there's really anything you could do to prepare.

It wasn't HireVue. It was Cappfinity. I guess they've changed it because I can't see them putting you through the HireVue assessment upon passing the Cappfinity one.

Oh actually, they probably do because the next stage is a "video interview".

The cappfinity one was the first stage and the second progresses to a hirevue interview- it is for the sols apprenticeship though so maybe different! Thanks
