Impact Forces, A level physics

Hi, can someone please help me with this question?

The force on a car increases linearly from ON to 500 N over 4 seconds. Calculate the car's change in momentum.

Thank you!

The equation I think you’re looking for is force = change in momentum / change in time. I hope this helps!!

Thank you for your reply! I tried this and my answer was 2000 Ns, but apparently the markscheme says it is 1000 Ns.

No, sorry!

How many marks is it worth? Also is it possible that the mark scheme is wrong as one of my further maths textbook is often wrong

It’s only worth 1 mark. Did you get an answer of 2000Ns too?

Yeah that’s the only way I can think of to answer the question especially for only one mark
