moving from the south up north

beginning to consider uni applications, and I was wondering what differences, if any, are there really up north from the south. im assuming there isn't really any, as the uk's such a small place, but I haven't been any further than like london, so I thought I'd ask here

It's colder and wetter the further north you go. And some regions have strong accents. But on campus, you'll have a good mix anyhow.

There's nowhere like London up North in terms of scale but Manchester comes quite close in terms of demographic and vibe, at least in the centre. Depends what you are looking for.
