Spring in Kingston: Picnic in Isabella Plantation

How have you been enjoying the warm weather?
Are you excited for the summer?

To celebrate the end of term and given how lovely the weather has been the past week, I couldn’t resist organising a picnic with a few friends to Isabella Plantation!
If you did not already know, Isabella Plantation is located just a short 15 min walk away from Richmond park’s Ladderstile gate and easily accessible by bus 65 or K3 from Kingston Station.

Although the azaleas are already at the tail end of their bloom, Isabella plantation is the perfect place to have a picnic surrounded by flora or to take long peaceful walks along the small ponds and streams. :u:
If you prefer having a picnic in an open field, you can walk towards the Pen Ponds, towards the centre of Richmond Park. Pen Ponds actually consist of two lakes and are home to many wildlife and birds like duck, geese and herons! If you are lucky, you may even spot some deers from afar!

If you plan to visit Richmond Park, do remember to check the weather before travelling. To be safe bring along a picnic mat, umbrella, trash bags and wet wipes and don’t forget to bring snacks!

What do you like to bring for a picnic? Know of any other great spots for picnics or long walks in nature? Feel free to share them down in the comments below!:colondollar:
