How would I solve 4a)?

Usually write down the freebies first. That means translating keywords/properties into maths.

In this case, what does it mean for x,y,z to form an arithmetic progression? Can you write in maths, so we can manipulate it?
Then, what does it mean for x,15/y, z to form a geometric progression? Again write in maths.

Note that our goal is an equation in y, so ideally you want to write the maths above in terms of y as well.
(If not, it will still work, I believe. Though it might involving some non-trivial manipulation at the end. We'll get to there if you end up that.)

Let's stop here for now.
