A Level Computer Science Project Ideas

I'm due to start my computer science project soon, but I have no idea what I should do for it. I had a few ideas, but none are either complex enough or simple enough for me. I'm a musician so I originally wanted to use JSFX (EEL2) to create a Raspberry Pi based Guitar effects pedal, but I couldn't quite make it complex enough, and it requires learning EEL2 which is C-like, and I only have experience in python and javascript. I was also thinking of doing a DnD-based project, but there is already lots of stuff that exists that I could just end up copying. Maybe a Gnome/GTK app would be good since I use Linux a lot (Debian/Ubuntu), but again, I don't know what I could make.
Any suggestions for what I could potentially do? I would be much obliged.

Got a few suggestions (sorry if they're not so great, I'm not too well-versed in music stuff :biggrin:

):

• Rhythm game
- procedurally generated levels
- complex computer opponent
- user-defined levels (maybe write a parser for a custom file format which stores the levels?)
- MIDI->level generator

• Music/MIDI editor or generator
- multiple channels
- GTK
- parsing user's input and compiling to MIDI format
- MIDI->wav/ogg converter
