is robotic engineering a good career path?

Im in sixth form atm, but im unsure on whether to take cs/c engineering or take robotic engineering. I love computer science but I'd like to program robots or work on AI in the future. i feel like robotic engineering is too niche and there wont be any positions available whereas cs is more generalised with many different sectors/fields to work in. Could I have some advice please? I'm not too sure on what to take. Also anyone who works in robotics, how is it?

well, apparantly, people have like 20 jobs over their lifetime, it's entirely possible to change entire fields - my friends mum did a degree in geography, and now does consultancy work for PWC, so im thinking of doing engineering at cam, cus its broad. no idea what i actually want to do tho
