Is 42k ( excl bonus ) a good entry level salary?

Is this a good entry level salary? What's the national average?

This is in finance in london
For that money I would think you'd be capable of researching average salaries yourself.
Or are you looking for an ego boost?

Kinda depends on age and qualifications.

Like for a 16-18 year old school leaver it'd be decent, for someone 20+ with a postgraduate degree then not so much.
It's London so it you take weighting into account that's more like 35k elsewhere. It's an average starting point for a graduate working in finance in London. The question is how much more you would make in due course and where you aim to be in 5 years. If your current employers offer rapid career and wage progression then you're doing good.
I think this is really poor in finance in London. Particularly if you'd be working more than a 9-5.
