Such thing as a Training Contract Waitlist?

Hi, I was curious to know that when law firms make training contract offers, is there a waiting list for others just in case the offers made to the other candidates aren’t accepted?

Not sure how that would work as they usually make offers and rejections within a few days of each other and offerees usually have some time to deliberate. From memory, I think it’s usually up till the end of your degree but I can’t recall. Never heard of anyone getting a phone call subsequently after a rejection with a TC offer. I would work off the basis that a rejection is final.
