Best Places for Graduation Pictures in Kingston

Congratulations to all our graduates who are graduating this July! For those who have yet to graduate, here are some top tips on the best places to take graduation photos here in Kingston! :colondollar:

Professional Studio Photography
If you are looking for a professional studio portrait or family shot to remember the momentous occasion, you can head to John Glasworth building after collecting your graduation gown where they offer professional photography against a studio backdrop by the ground floor! Do try and get these done earlier in the day as there tends to be a long queue! In addition to that, you can also purchase printed photographs from the ceremony at the drinks reception at Townhouse Library.

Townhouse
Alternatively, if you are not willing to pay and would like to take some fun shots with friends and family, here are a number of places in Townhouse that have been popular!

Instagram Wall: The first on the list would be the Kingston University instagram wall backdrop that you can find at the reception in Townhouse! This is by far the most popular location to take pictures and is a must for a fun group shot with family and friends.

Townhouse Library Entrance Sign: The second most popular spot for taking pictures is the university's Townhouse Library entrance sign! With the building’s high ceilings and tall pillars as a backdrop, the revolving door entrance to Townhouse library is always crowded with many graduates taking the perfect shot to commemorate their time here at Kingston!

Townhouse Staircase: Winner of the 2021 Stirling Prize and hailed as the face for Kingston University’s marketing campaigns, the “walking down the stairs” shot in your graduation gown is one of the many picturesque shots you can get within the building!

Level 5 Garden: Last but not least we have the panoramic rooftop view of the

Queen Promenade (boardwalk along the river thames)
If the weather is nice, the boardwalk along Surbiton’s Portsmouth Road, which follows the Thames, is also another beautiful place to take pictures along the river!
