Subfusc - To wear or not to wear all year round?
I'm wondering what the consensus is on the wearing of academic dress for occasions other than graduation, exams or fancy dress! What do you think? If you could wear a gown around uni would you do it and why? If not, why not? Answers on a postcard please.....

in the main because it is pretentious to wear them when it's not required.
I do not know a single person that did this when I was reading at Oxford.
