which college course???

im struggling to choose between doing btec music performance, music tech or production arts at college.
i love playing guitar and i am currently working towards my grade 3 so i have quite a bit of experience that would be useful for music performance.
however im also interested in working in backstage theatre/live events so maybe production arts or music tech may be more useful?
any tips???

There are far too many factors and unknown variables for us to come to a definite conclusion, but I would base your decision around the following key points:

- Which aspect do you enjoy most? Is it the creative process, the buzz and adrenaline of performance, the satisfaction of working on and completing a project? It’s crucial that whatever you choose, you need to enjoy it as you’ll naturally have to invest a lot of time and thought into that particular discipline.

- What are your personal circumstances? Are you looking for a financially stable/secure position immediately upon finishing, or are you willing to go freelance? Would one choice have significant consequences with regards to living costs/social life/personal circumstances?

- What would the wider aspects of study look like? Does one institution/course offer significantly better opportunities, extra-curricular activities, opportunities to socialise etc…
