Cambridge Economics maths workload

Obviously Cambridge economics is regarded as very maths heavy, but I want to know specifically how much it is

Can any student or graduate (or anyone who knows) lmk a percentage split on how much of the work is spent on essays versus maths per year please?

Does the course get more maths dominant after each year or can you try to tailor it to become a bit more essay based overall?

Judging off the course structure it looks like there is the option for essay based optional module choices for 2nd and 3rd year, but the more mathematical core modules seem to be the main ones

People mention the course is basically just an applied maths degree - to what extent is this true?

Thanks
