Innovative Product to help students really grasp the material they are learning

Hi All,
Please take a moment to help me out. I have an opportunity in conjunction with my university to give me the resources to create an innovative educational technology product and I would like your feedback. I have trouble processing the information that I am reading in a textbook without conversing with someone about that which I am reading. An application that test students understanding by conversing with them about the information in the textbook. The application would make certain the student has a good grasp of that which is being presented. Is this useful to people? Thanks so so much! Ari
