Hi guys I’m struggling with math assignment could any of you help this is the essay question thank you.

Title: The teaching and learning of division in Year ‘X’

In a time of change, there has been a good deal written about the teaching of formal written calculations vs mental methods.
In this essay you should consider some of the arguments around this, before presenting your ideas for teaching division to a
KS2 year group of your choice. Here you should assume that all children are achieving current National Expectations. You
should consider what elements of informal methods you might use and various strategies and resources
Your essay should include
- a discussion of the issues surrounding the teaching of formal written methods of calculation too soon, and how mental
methods should be the starting point
- a description of key elements of prior learning children will have experienced in this area up to the chosen year group
- an outline of the teaching approaches (including use of resources with images) you will adopt in order to address the
type of calculation being explained when teaching division to your chosen year group.
