Btec applied science unit 3 2024 exam

Hi guys, what do you think the topic will be for the unit 3 exam the 19th of January 2024?

I think it’s gonna be bio and physics maybe enzymes and circuits bc diffusion and circuits came up June 2023

I am really wanting quadrats to come up

does anyone have any predictions for the topics coming up on the applied exam- May 3rd 2024?

I’m not entirely sure. Circuits have come up for several previous years in a row now - will they continue the trend or give us something fresh? I got no idea. I feel like it could be plants or enzymes with something else maybe. What do you think? Good luck btw 🤞

What did you write for the 12 marker? About the two different plant seeds

I did a similar structure to the mung bean practical but did it with 1st seed, 2nd seed individually in a beaker and both 1st and 2nd seed in a beaker to see if the roots would be longer when in a competitive environment. My teacher didn’t really cover section 2 in a great depth though so I’m not sure if that’s right. There were so many ways of doing it

I wrote about using a quadrat but counting the number of plant leaves and measuring the length of the plant, do you think that would be right? 😭😭

your one sounds correct too because its about interspecific competition and not population size. But so many people did a quadrat so i dont know. Also, for the line graph, did you draw a straight line of best fit or curved?

Yes! I just said for the question after that it had a steep gradient at the start. It was annoying bcs id already drawn the line prior to reading that question
