How do I get a grade 6 and or higher in the actual maths GCSE? I understand all the content, however when it comes to the exam I mess up due to the pressure.
Past papers under exam conditions - train yourself to perform under pressure. Practice, practice, and practice.
Understanding the content isn't difficult. Applying the content is what makes maths hard. Once you have enough practice at this, you would get a lot further ahead.
