English Literature A-level comparison coursework advice

Hi! I’m not sure which two books to choose for my comparative essay on a pre-2000 and post-2000 novel.

I was thinking ‘The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ for my post-2000, but I’m not sure what to do with my pre-2000. Or two completely other books entirely tbf. I’m open to suggestions and any advice on A-level lit would be appreciated xx

Maybe another dystopian novel like George Orwell's 1984. You can compare how the worlds of President Snow and Winston contrast each other and how they could be alike as well. Also a huge fan or HG:BSS :smile:
