Biomedical Science

Hey,Currently doing an Access course is biomedical/biological science at Belfast Met. I've got conditional offers from Ulster University for both biomed and personalised medicine. Leaning towards biomed as I'm not sure if I'd enjoy the maths aspect of personalised medicine. Anyone here done or currently doing a biomed degree in Ulster? Would you recommend it? Is it a Mon-Fri timetable? Also, the offer stated I need a health check before registration, what does that entail? Thanks guys.

Currently a 2nd year studying biomed at Ulster and ngl I really love it! I would definitely recommend. It's kinda hard to exactly pin down the timetable cause it honestly changes nearly every week because some classes like practicals are usually on every other week and some classes start and finish at different times. I can send you one of my first year timetables if you like so you can see what I mean. For the health check I honestly have no idea, I don't think I needed one but the university will email you and explain if you require it. Hope this helps ^-^

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, if you could send me on one of your first year timetables that would be great! It's more so because I will be commuting from Belfast and I'm hoping it's not a 9am start every day haha. Thanks again!

Okay! I'll pm you! A lot of people in my year also travel up from Belfast so you'll definitely not be alone!

Hello! I've been trying to find out about the 1st year timetable for Biomed at UU and just saw your post. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sending me a copy of yours or letting me know how many days a week you were in? I understand it's changeable but I'm trying to apply for part time hours at work and I have no idea how much I could fit in around studying. Thank you!

Hey, Yeah I'm currently studying Biomed now in UU Coleraine. The workload isn't too bad. I've two 9:15am a week which means I need to leave Belfast by 7:15-30 to make it in good time. There's a few online classes though which you can do from home and I usually have one and sometimes two days a week off depending on which practical group is being assessed that week. It was tough at the start but once you get used to it, it gets easier IMO.

Hi, I'm so sorry to just jump onto those thread but I have just been accepted to biomed in coleraine for September and have been wanting to know some details about timetables etc cause I have kids and need to workout childcare and I also live in Newtownards so quite a commute everyday.
Would you have a copy of your timetable or even just an idea of the earliest times you start and latest times you finish etc so I can relax a bit? Lol
Thank you

Hi, I have just been accepted for biomed in coleraine for September. I know this is an old post but just on the off chance would you be able to either send me a copy of your timetable or give me info on the earliest times you've started and latest you've finished? I'm currently in the middle of organising childcare for when I start but need some sort of an idea of start times etc so I can plan ahead please. Also do you get any days off per week?
