James Paget Hospital

I was just offered a FPP post at James Paget hospital. Does anyone here have experience with the post/hospital?
Any insight/advice would be appreciated!!

I live sort of nearby and honestly it’s not a great hospital. The towns nearby (Gorleston /Gt Yarmouth) are pretty deprived areas and the hospital building itself isn’t in great condition (but it’s one of the Boris hospitals being rebuilt soon tbf).

Also a family member of mine works there as a doctor and sometimes complains that the environment is quite toxic from management and generally (eg see here: https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/23716231.james-paget-facing-consultant-mutiny-latest-nhs-strikes/). But idk if this is typical for the NHS in general. Maybe ask a BMA rep if you want to know more on the particular situation at JPUH?

However it’s a ten minute walk from the sea which is nice. Good luck for your future plans!!
