i was unsure because the accomodation is more expensive at exeter , plus i feel there are not a lot of things to do around the weekends.

Hey @Girludontkwon

Congrats on the offers!!

Have you been to any / or booked onto any of their open days? That way you can get a feel for student life, check out the accommodation on a tour, speak to lectures etc.

Hi Girludontkwon,

First of all - congratulations on your offers! That’s absolutely amazing news.

There’s so many different things to consider when picking your university, and it can often be quite the challenge. First of all, how do you feel about the course offered? Which one appeals to you most in how it is taught the modules that are offered?

Second of all, how do you feel about the university as a whole? I’ve had a brilliant time at Exeter from the start, and although it’s a smaller city for me that adds to the appeal. There’s enough to do, but it feels very safe. If it’s your thing, I’ve found the nightlife to be absolutely amazing also. The Student Guild often runs events that allow you to socialise in a fun environment and get involved in university life, and departments also do the same. Some of the department events include lectures with guest speakers, and I’ve found them to be extremely interesting and thought-provoking, and a brilliant way to deepen my knowledge within my subject.

We have over 300 societies ranging from volunteering to a variety of sports societies, and there’s something available for everyone. Here’s the link so you can have a look! It’s a great way to meet like-minded people who share your interests.

Finally, Exeter offers a wide variety of accommodation to suit your needs. There’s many options for both catered and self-catered, alongside shared bathrooms and en-suite rooms. This can be quite overwhelming, but I started by figuring out what I wanted, which was lots of people and being self-catered and I narrowed down my options from there. I ended up staying in Birk’s Grange Village in a townhouse of 12, which suited me perfectly. If you’re interested, here is the link to the accommodation page.

There’s a brilliant tool available called ‘room finder,’ in which you can enter your preferences and it shows accommodations which match them.

Ultimately, it’s where you think you’ll be happiest, but I hope this helps you a little. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Jen,
