thanx alot appreciate ur great help very much
yes i do want a separate house for me and my family alone not shared

Well, here's the Uni's web page about family accommodation:
http://www.bris.ac.uk/accom/cplfam.html

Some Bristol estate agents:
http://www.kingsleythomas.co.uk/
http://www.chappellandmatthews.co.uk/
http://www.cjhole.co.uk/
http://www.andrewsonline.co.uk/
http://www.hydes.co.uk/
http://www.email4property.co.uk/bristol/estate-agents.htm

Just a few I know of in Bristol, have seen adverts for etc, rather than them being 'recommendations'. My estate agents only deals with 'typical' student lets so wouldn't be of much use to you.

These are some rental search sites as well:
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/
http://www.fish4.co.uk/iad/lettings

Hope this helps to get you started, not the best advice I know, but like I said, not many people here will have experience of looking for family rentals. Again, I would recommend emailing the accommodation office (http://www.bris.ac.uk/accom/contact.html) and see what they have to say, its what they're there for after all!

Good luck, hope you manage to find somewhere.

Pretty random question about wills... I have a dust might allergy so have to wet dust...HUZZAH! cleaners obviously won't do this so, really I need a sink in the room because it will take me HOURS otherwise. Is there any connection with sinks and room sizes? Sounds pretty weird but i remember from my sisters accomodation in ****field that old rooms were the only ones with sinks and they were larger.

Cheersss

Old quad and UVW have sinks in their rooms, so the largest and the smallest rooms. Put it in your personal statement on the accommodation form, or, better yet, write to Donald say you wanted to apply but knew not all rooms had sinks, explain the situation etc. See what he says.

e.g I'd really like to apply but am worried due to my condition, if I were to get a place would it be possible to ensure I have a basin. Otherwise I may unfortunatley have to apply elsewhere etc, you get the picture. Something not too pushy or presumptuos.

I think you should mention that under the Disabilities, health and support needs bit of the form.

Where is ****field?! Sounds lovely.
I know I am being very impatient as they dont even consider our accomodation forms until the 12th July...

but... what kind of time did people hear back from Bristol about what accomodation they got?
I really really hope I get into Goldney!:p:

You hear in the fortnight after the A-level results are published. So end of August / start of September, probably.

I can't decide!! Baddock or Hiatt Baker? I'm definitely putting them both down..but not sure in which order. What are the pros and cons of both, cos I've heard they're pretty similar. Cheers xxx

if i were you id run from the inevitable backlash of rui et al saying 'look through the ****ing thread' lol. so ill save you this self-esteem destroying event by summarising. Baddock sucks has ****e food and has no advantage over other halls. hb is most interesting hall of the lot and has decent food but looks like a prision from outside (which considering your living inside shouldnt be an issue). in short hb 1st baddock 2nd IF YOU HAVE TO

Thank you very much =) I was bracing myself for abuse! Gotta get that form in pretty soon, but really didn't have the time (got ridiculous amount of exams in the next couple of days) to go through all the posts.

You've got a month.
And the thing says IN THE BOOK that you get it by 31st August.

Anyone who is at/has been to Hawthorns know the difference in size between a large room and a single ensuite room?

thinking if its worth the extra 13 quid for my own shower - but the thought of stinky cheap ass dirty students make me just want to go for it.
Reply 1133
both the large and single are ensuite aren't they?
and both have showers too...apparently
Reply 1134
on an unrelated note...
this may sound premature/over-zealous, but has anyone received a confirmation that they've received your accommodation pack?

I'm tracking my letter on DHL's website as a form of physics revision displacement/nerdy catharsis  (couriered because bahraini post is incredibly unreliable)

ahh...apologies. didn't remember that.
well how important is space to you? I guess there's a standard room size in most accommodations and student rooms are, by definition, pretty small. plus, your second option will probably have that 'standard' room size anyway.

yeah its pretty important, ive seen quite a few student rooms and i would hate to live in spaces so small.

been thinking about it, and i definetly want an ensuite.

just deciding over whether i should go for a single or a large. woudl be lame if its cramped as hell when i have a friend over now, and if its a male friend, gonna need extra sleeping space.

I didn't think you got to pick whether you had a large room/small room/shared room/ensuite room, you just get to state a preference, most peole I knew at Goldney who requested an ensuite didn't get one. Didn't know there was a large/small choice though...

ah but there are prices levels for the different room, so its like an option right?

was going to ask if i could put 'Hawthrns - Large Ensute' and 'Hawthorns - Singe Ensuite' as my 1st and 2nd choice but i guess not lol.
