What time did you get into/leave school?

I was on the bus yesterday at 2.55pm and was amazed to see loads of school kids on it. Apparently they start school at 8.45am and finished at 2.45pm.

I was flabbergasted because I started school at 8.25am and finished at 4.00pm. That means that every day, I had an extra 1hr35mins of school. That's 7hrs55mins. With 36 weeks in a school year, that's an extra 285hrs a year, or the equivalent to 47.5 shorter school days. That's 9.5 weeks extra, a year. That means in 5 years, I had the equivalent to a whole school year, plus 1 extra term of schooling. :s-smilie:

So when did you start and finish school?

Don't think too much about it, different schools start and finish at different times, it just means you received a better education.

I never attended school, I went straight into uni to do my bachelors.

It's 8:20am - 4:00pm at my school, and I think that's about right. We have an hour for lunch and (supposedly) a short break in the morning, though because the sixth form is split between two buildings we have to walk between them, meaning we don't actually get a break other than the walk. (it takes 10-15 minutes) Some people complain about this, but personally I think you should make the most of all the lesson time you can get.

Well, today I went into school for 11.20 so I set off at 11.10, and I was out of school by 11.25, home by 11.30.

Generally I have at least 3 hours of proper schooling, followed by more work at home.

The actual school day for years 7,8,9,10,11 is 8.25 - 2.50, with 2 30minute breaks and 25minute form time.

Starts at 8:15am, finishes at 3:20pm. But most days I have after-school activities anyway.
In my first high school, we started at 9am and finished at 3.35pm, and in my second we started at the same time, but finished at 3.45pm. I thought that was around average.

Started at 8:25, finished some days at 4:10, sometimes 5:30. Always assumed there were standard school hours of 8:30 to around 4...

School:
Monday & Tuesday: 8:25 - 3:30
Wednesday: 8:25 - 1:10 (I think)
Thursday & Friday: 8:25 - 2:35

We missed a lot of valuable learning time to be honest :/

College:
I have no idea when it opens and closes. I go in only when I'm timetabled to.
Start at 8:40 and finish at 3:10. Five teaching periods in the day, each lasting one hour but for those in Year 13 like myself and in Year 12, the amount of lessons each day can vary from none to a full five a day.
high school
8:45 - 3:15
College
9:00 - 4:30
but i bugger off usually at 3:45.

Secondary school: 8:40-3:40 (After I left the school, they changed it to 3:15 - not fair!)
College: Monday, Tuesday and Friday: Start: 8:40
End: 4:15 (On Monday, have a four hour break though!) 1:15 (On Tuesday) 12:10 (On Friday)
Wednesday and Thursday: Start 10:40
End: 12:10 (Wednesday), 1:45 (Thursday)
