Aerospace @ Imperial, any thoughts?

Hey, I am pondering over whether I want to put Imperial as my firm offer, but I am finding it really hard to decide...

I've heard horror stories and there are corpus amounts of them to support them, however I have also heard contrasting stories. I know Aero has a lot of work and hopefully I could handle that; so that aside, what is going to Imperial College really like??

Thanks in advance

You have an offer for perhaps one of the most competitive, respected, and demanding courses available.
What does 'there are corpus amounts of them to support them' mean?

Well I have tried to get as many opinions as possible, whilst keeping an open mine, yet I still come across people on these kind of forums linking to review sites where students have complained about getting less than 1hr of free time per night, and loosing out on accommodation, and being surrounded by drones who only work..

Don't get me wrong, I love my Maths and Physics, I wouldn't be doing Aero otherwise and I am not shy of working hard as I don't consider myself naturally clever. However, I do currently have a fairly healthy social life and I love to go out.

Is this possible with this University/Course, or is it all too overwhelming?

I know people doing aero as well as people doing a lot of other subjects and all of them have more than enough time to have fun and take advantage of it.

Of course there are people who do stay in their rooms all the time but there are plenty of people who don't, you'll have a great time if you want to.
Imperial is an amazing opportunity - you should definitely go for it

demanding courses? on what basis are u saying so? is it that industries require a lot of them or is it that there are too little people pursuing this course.

btw, i would also be doing aerospace materials in imperial next year! (my firm)
thanks.

Horror stories? What horror stories?!

The work load is high, and the concepts themselves can be demanding. That's why the entrance requirements are so high.

I found the first year hard, but in the first term of the second year covered as much material if not more than the last two terms put together, and also had twice as many labreports.

But I don't think it's going to be any easier in Cambridge

I don't really do much but there others who have alot of spare time for having fun. And the gym is free

If you wanted to specialise in aerodynamics, i think it would've been better to study aeronautics rather than aerospace materials. You learn more aerodynamic stuff in aeronautics than aerospace materials..
(afaik)

A* predictions are treated exactly the same as an A prediction at the moment.
