How is it doing 5 a levels? Is it manageable? I'm planning to do FM, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, but not sure whether I should do economics or biology in terms of trying to reduce workload.

If you are good at maths then maths and fm reduce to one a level, I heard from my friends that biology is quite work-heavy though so you might consider trying it then dropping in december/march if it's too much.

also why so many aero applicants?

Hi, I was trying to look for courses which start of general and specialise later. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I think the options should include Auto/Motorsport - they are just as popular as some of the ones you've included.

warwick and birmingham have general first years i think
though im not too sure about birmingham you should check on the website

It would umbrella under mechanical, but users are free to vote for mechanical or other (or both) and comment this on their introduction post. The poll is just for some perspective.

No - they are different degrees - you've included aero

The divergence in aerospace is greater then in auto/motorsport (where typically its a limited number of modules that differ and are often optional ones) whereas aerospace has greater amount of core module differences (although aerospace is similar, it’s about where you draw the line).

I don't think you can generalise on module content between different unis.

This will be my last reply as this dialogue as this is really just a pedantic issue.

The content and structure of different degrees is outlined largely by the engineering council bodies that accredit degrees, and the approach they have structured their requirements for accreditation mean you can generalise these programs within the UK.

Yes but there are optional modules too - why not just add the additional one? It's not pedantic that Mech Eng is not Auto/Motorsport and to pretend otherwise is misleading.

You should also be asking about Year in industry - Cambridge is not a good option if you actually want to be an engineer,

Durham is general engineering for the first two years in every engineering course.

Does UCL do Aerospace Engineering? I couldn't find the course on their website?
