I guess it only does if you make it a problem. I.e. if you moan about having to travel to see your friends and cant be bothered to go, and then miss out on things then yea that would impact it.

If you make an effort, or compromise an have them over to you then it will be fine

Well, how about you collect some data and and regress it. That way you can easily answer your question. However, you would need a lot of data to make it statistically relevant.
