Our teacher said to focus on definition of atypical behaviour, and on the Psychodynamic Approach to atypical behaviour, ie Freud and Little Hans, defence mechanisms etc!

Can someone please explain briefly the Little Hans research, i have never done that in class??

whaaaaaaaaat? A choice of two models, are you serious?... Thats amazing if that happens i saw that happened in the 2008 papers but not in the 09 or 10....

little hans was a case study done by freud. A young boy little hans had a fear of horses. His dad met with freud and they theorised that he was scared of horses as he was in love with his mother and feared his fathers retaliation. Thats the basic bit im going to look over it again tommorow in the morning

Thought it was a fair paper, a bit worried about the Early Socialisation questions, but apart from that all went good i think

How did everyone find it? I thought it was a fair paper. I just finished in time, hardly lifted my hand the whole two and a half hours! :p: I wrote over 20 pages, lets just hope it was the right stuff but I think it went well.
It was quite good, except i didn't really write much for behaviourist approach at the end and I wasn't too keen on the first memory question, for the forgetting question I did Gooden and Baddeley, anyone else do that? Overall quite a fair paper

Very fair paper, here's my analysis

Early Socialisation: I TOLD YOU ALL daycare would be in it! Lovely. I wrote about Bowlby for 1b but in hindsight, Schaffer and Emerson would have suited me better, I know it more extensively. Damn my exam-mind.

Memory: YES! These questions were approved by God himself, fantastic questions, especially the first one. However, I wrote studies for ALL processes of LTM and STM?! I analysed them all too, went over my "time-limit" for this question. Forgetting - I craftily used Jenkins and Dallenbach as it tackles both decay AND interference.

Research Methods: Natural experiments... like that person said (sorry I don't know your name). Very weird experiment. I was intimidated by that block of text, kind of anticipated a graph or some pictorial thing. The non-experimental question - 8 SODDING MARKS WHAT?! I said interviews and went through every type and analysed each so I should do well but 8 Marks?!

Conformity and Obedience: YES YES YES OMFG YES. Just what I wanted, factors of obedience OR conformity would have suited and there it was! I pillaged Asch and Sherif for all they were worth and name dropped Deutsch and Gerard and Kelman. My structure was a bit off but such a God send.

Intelligence: IQ Testing... erm... yeah. I knew 2 but not in great detail. I brain dumped a tonne of analysis so I might be covered.

A's in all NABs and my prelim so my appeal material is set so I felt I performed well enough in THE WORST EXAM ROOM EVER.

Hope you all did well too
it was fantastic!Every question was basically the same as my prelim...i was worried I'd done the research stress one wrong as other people had done seyle ,but apparantly writing about glaser was allowed...thank god!Hope you all did well guys!
Ps:the other guy with special requirements who was with me left after 1 and 1/2 hours...he either did fantastic or terrible....i was worried i had run out of time when he left!

am i right in thinking that the exam is out of 125? somone said that you had to get more than 10 to pass the investigations behaviour section b in the exam? didint get it? as far i was aware its out of 125 and your project is scaled from 50 marks to 25 so give 125 marks. Also seyle was ok for the stress study today ye?

You were so right about natural experiments! And most of the other stuff you said too! Except we didn't get to choose both of the approaches, but it was still good.

I have so many guides and tables on my walls for psychology... as much as I love the subject, great pleasure was taken from tearing them down!

Probably going to avoid this thread until August, thanks for the discussion and hints along the way. Best of luck with this and any other exams you have sat/yet to sit

A1, A3, B, C3 and C4. BOOM!

It wasn't nearly as bad as what I'd expected. Only thing that may have f*cked me up would be section B. I mean really, that last question, wtf!? What has that got to do with section B???
Still, I'm really happy with how I did
I did not like that. Not at all.

The question on ethics?! Our teacher told us that you didn't need to know that, and that it's not in the course! So I didn't learn it :frown:

Almost definitely failed.

That was only 4 marks though, I just wrote crap about consent, debriefing just the real basics.... I'm sure you did better than you thought
