Latin has three words for the f-word, depending on your position

Gaidhlig uses the word 'feis' for the f-word.

It also means festival.

20 years ago some sly old priest started the 'feis' movement which was meant to be a bunch of celebrations of gaelic culture for kids. So now we have 'Feis Bharraigh, Feis Rois, Feis Leodhais' which translate as the Orgy of Barra, the Orgy of Ross, and the Orgy of Lewis'. All this to teach a couple of kids the highland fling!

being a naturalist??

I'm quite into the seashore but thats about it, mostly I'm a books and school lab kinda guy.

Oh I see. Hmm, no Im the opposite. Well actually Im just everything.
But Im very interested in conservation and think I want to travel and do that as a career, like, coral reef conservation in Madagascar or turtle conservation in Costa Rica. That kind of stuff.
I went to the azores for dolphin and whale conservation thing, that was awesome. I love marine biology.

I basically love all the trees and animals and stuff.

But I also love cell biology, and physiology (especially environmental physiology-like how animals are adapted to the environment), and genetics has been somewhat of a revelation to me in this past year
Im just an all-rounder biologist who loves all of it. (and just spelt biologist as biologogist - oh dear.)

I want to take a picture of my new book case with all my fantasy series' in order (I rearranged them the other day) but I cant find my camera! I assure you there are amazing

 I am jealous! I like your stuffed animals.

Not that I don't appreciate them (because I do!) but why do you have Austen and Dickens and the like for your uni application reading material? D:

Indeed. PPE seems much more popular here, and there are hardly any law or medicine applicants.

I'm pretty sure there are somewhere... *digs around*

I'd noticed that too. I feel like I'm missing out on the opportunity to see the competition, haha.

Nah, I did lots of arts subjects and stuff, and like the decision to do biology (specifically neuroscience) was a conscious one because I decided it was the best way of understanding the brain and particularly language. I'm a language geek. =L

I mean I always liked it, especially evolution, but more in an abstract 'humanities' sense.

Though I can claim a deep knowledge of the Hebridean seashore and its constituent shellfish, for what its worth!!!

I did Feis Tir a Mhurain.

(I forgot we nicked the idea from the Irish, with no thought to the word's other meaning in our own language)

So what subjects do you have for A level?
I quite like neuroscience, it's interesting!
Oooh, yay for shellfish :P

Oh, this did make me giggle

Oh those Romans were such sexual beasts! :P
I miss studying Latin. I wanted to take it for A level but there were only 2 of us wanting to do it so they couldn't afford to run it :frown: Now of course the year below have like 9 people - typical <_<
Still, I gained geography on a whim, not having studied it before, and that kinda made me a better biology applicant, so it didn't turn out too bad.

I didn't have anything quite so violent planned  It's probably for the best though. At least this way I don't see the intelligent minds I'm up against in action.

the a level set texts from catullus are 1-4, 7-13, 22, 63 and 70

NOOOOOOOO :cry2:
