Hahah, it was quite funny! Yeah, I know what you mean, if you're not sure about an answer, you just look in the gap between the answer before and the answer after
. I agree, essays are really hard to judge, I was pretty convinced I'd messed up English lti last year and it turned out to be one of my best exams! Whereas in Spanish I thought I'd done OK in the writing and badly in the listening, and it turned out to be the other way round...
Well when they all speak English it's really easy not to practice your French, but I'm guessing if you went somewhere where they hardly spoke any English it would come back to you!
Ah, that's really annoying, I would be so annoyed if my school hadn't let me take both languages! They make our option blocks after we've all chosen to try and squeeze everyone's options in
. Oh dear, I'm guessing they couldn't fit History into your timetable either? And yeah, A level history does sound pretty tricky, although a lot of people must like it because it's a really competitive degree!
Hahah, that's how I always feel. I always have to rely on friends to get me to places, otherwise I would just get lost. Although having to ask for directions in foreign languages in France and Spain has made me a lot less concerned about it- if I could work my way back to places even if it did mean asking for directions every 5 minutes there I can definitely do it in my own country!
Hahah, that is quite funny, good to know I'm not the only one who doesn't know the geography of the UK
Oh dear- do you have the other teacher for any lessons then? Ah, that is quite worrying, had they all done well at GCSE? That's good that you can practice with an assistant as well, we do that too and it's good because you don't have to worry so much about oral practice in class, we can focus primarily on writing/reading/listening instead
.
Ah that's good, we haven't started it yet so it's good to hear it's interesting! I think we're starting it next week
. Ah that's good, if you can do one every week you'll be an expert by the end!
Yeah, one of my friends feels the same way about maths I think. It's really satisfying when you work something out but it sounds like it can be really frustrating at times! Don't worry, I'm sure you did better than you think- how did you do in Maths at AS? We did AQA English Lit, I dropped it because I found the work load really inconsistent, I had no work for it one night and then hours the next, and last year the coursework had to be done around the same time as my language orals which was tricky! As there's so much work for languages, economics just fitted in better time wise (and I found it a bit more interesting than English!). I enjoyed AS, but the A2 English course didn't appeal to me so much either. General studies ins't accepted for many courses but it's kind of an extra subject that we just have a couple of lessons a week in. There's a module that's kind of science related, an arts related one, now we're doing one on change and progress, and I'm not sure what the final one is. It basically requires you to bring in knowledge from all your subjects, but it's fine because it doesn't really require any revision
. I found picking my A level options quite easy, because I like to specialise! I don't like science, and I'm not particularly creative so that didn't leave many things!
