A switch in a circuit isn't a mistake...

it's 1.67, lol

urm no its not haha, its 1.7
it would be 1.67 if it was to 3sf
thats awkward

Same! I expected a 5 mark question on momentum and calculating the velocity. I couldn't believe RCCB's came up again after the may 2012 paper. I thought momentum will definitely come up since it wasn't there in the may 2012.

that's what i thought as well!

The voltmeter and ammeter being incorrectly connected should count because they are two separate things, the voltmeter and ammeter could have been connected in parallel and there would be only one problem then but if the switch was open and people said that they will also get the mark- there may we have been more than two things wrong with the circuit.

Yes it is! Then how is the appliance supposed to work then?

for the go karts one did anyone put:

the drag force at any speed will be smaller for the final model (y) in comparison to the model x, as the kart is more streamlined, therefore Y's drag force will meet the forward force at a higher speed..:s-smilie:

I put basically that, but more verbosely. I hate trying to meet everything on markschemes.

It works when the person turns it on. What you are saying is that the switches that turn on lights are a mistake ......... It is intentional

I don't think you understand the point of a switch, as opposed to a brake in the circuit. One can easily turn a switch on when the appliance needs to be used. Do you leave you appliances on at home?

By turning on the switch.... a switch is meant to be opened or closed. It isnt a mistake

Yeah but one can easily swap a voltmeter and a ammeter into it's right place.

But they are two different mistakes though

Yeah but having an open switch will break an circuit as the current can't pass through

not when it encased in the product, the switch on the other hand it exposed externally from the circuit to the user : to put it simply, a switch is an I/O device, a/v meters are plain output devices
