I just saw that on the tracker. Pretty high UKCAT score and GCSEs...I suppose I will have to wait long before I get a call with my score of 795 and 9A* at GCSE.

I basically have almost the same stats as you (790 UKCAT and 9A* at GCSE)! Please say you're joking! Good luck to everyone!

guys....
im not doing any science a levels, and my gcses weren't great, but If i get As at A level, do i stand a chance for the foundation programmes?
I've had a search, and there's no TSR member with the name paediatricgynaecology. Pretty sure it's false.

I agree it could be a troll but not all of the names on there will be people's actual TSR usernames since they an type whatever they want on the stalking page

As rudely as it was put unfortunately not. You need chemistry and biology A-level to do the extended medicine programme http://www.kcl.ac.uk/prospectus/undergraduate/entryrequirements/name/EMDP/alpha/MNO/header_search/

im glad u realised it was rude. And i was talking about the 'foundation programmes', for people who 'haven't' taken science a level.

I'm not 100% sure (maybe someone else can help?) but I don't think KCL offers a foundation programme. The unis i know that do are
Cardiff (http://coursefinder.cardiff.ac.uk/undergraduate/course/detail/A104.html)
Dundee (http://www.dundee.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/medicine.htm)
Keele (http://www.keele.ac.uk/foundationcourses/healthfoundationyear/)
Manchester (http://www.mms.manchester.ac.uk/undergraduate/mbchb6year/?code=01430&pg=3)
Sheffield (http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/prospectus/courseDetails.do?id=A1042014#qualifications)

Southampton, East Anglia and Nottingham also have foundation courses but they have eligibility criteria you need to meet
Southampton (http://www.southampton.ac.uk/medicine/undergraduate/courses/bm6_a102.page#entry)
East Anglia (http://www.uea.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/degree/detail/mbbs-medicine-with-a-foundation-year#requirements)
Nottingham (http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/ugstudy/courses/medicine/medicine-with-a-foundation-year-bmbs.aspx)
I think KCL does have a course for people that haven't taken any sciences at a-level, but it's for those who have already gained a 2.1 or higher in an arts degree, not school leavers. Could be wrong though, I'd advise you call up admissions and ask

Here is the email I received after asking them about the extended degree programme. They do not offer a foundation year.

Dear _______,

Thank you for your email.

The Extended Medical Degree programme is only open to students from participating schools in the London, Kent and Medway area. A list of eligible schools can be found in our online prospectus.

Details on all programmes at King's can be found at http://www.kcl.ac.uk/prospectus/

I hope this answers your enquiry but please do not hesitate to contact us with any further queries.

Kind regards,
Elissa Perreau

I'm sorry, I'm being pessimistic because I'm so nervous seeing so many 800+ UKCAT scores and 11-12 A* at GCSE :-(. And this waiting is killing me!

Bear in mind that the student room is quite an elite group so everyone here has quite high scores, we don't represent all the other people applying to kings. Plus they don't really have a specific cut off, if you have strong GCSEs they put less weight on the ukcat and vice versa

Know how you feel, the wait is horrible! Hopefully they'll put us out of our misery very soon! But, as Flobie's said above, TSR isn't really representative of everyone that has applied!
