Can someone please help me to explain why the direction of impulse is towards the left? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Can someone please help me to explain why the direction of impulse is towards the left? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
You can conceptualise it from the time axis. The right of the axon will depolarise before the left of the axon, so at any given time will be further through the action potential.
