Apparently he died because a fan hit him over the head with a brick.

South American football is a farce, much like most of their society. Run by crooks and taken over by real football hooligans (not our poncy 'away crowds' in the UK), and Drug Cartels. Pathetic, and something needs to be done immediately.

That referee was lucky then. I remember seeing a video of a football referee being beheaded on the pitch because he stabbed a player in a fight. Totally disgusting and this is real crime, regardless of whether it is on the pitch.
