My coursework is around a B, but that entirely thanks to the first part (A452). The second part involves python and that's just another language to me.

Ah. We used MIT app inventor; its a pretty useless programming language; but it got me through the coursework; so that's good. Practically everyone is failing in our computing class. 1 Person got A* in both parts; Around 3 people got As in two parts; 1 Persons got an A* in one part but didn't even do his second part; 5 people got Bs; the rest got Cs or Below overall. A B is pretty good relatively to other students doing it. I scraped an A; barely...

Working on the last app inventor unit and also revising theory

Thanks, that makes me slightly more relieved. I'm assuming you scored quite highly to get in?

#samispector

Not necessarily, I was in the top 2 priority groups afterall so I only had to score over 464, I got in the 490 zone, I think it was 493 or something like that
Lol most of my class is struggling to get C's, There was only one A as far as I'm aware. I don't think anyone would take it as an option at HWSF if it was an offer.

Hey, I got accepted to LAE too, it is really good there and closer to where I live although I'm choosing HWSF over LAE. However, what I am unsure about is NCS (Newham Collegiate Sicth Form) I got an acceptance letter on Friday, did you apply there by any chance? I really need advice concerning which i should choose lol!

What a coincidence! I've also applied to NCS and have got accepted! NCS doesn't come any close to LAE or HSWF, in terms of atmosphere, competency and teaching. It wouldn't challenge us as much as the other two would. So I say just come to HWSF! :colondollar: They don't need free iPads or £200 Amazon Vouchers to bribe us to come.

Thanks Lol, yes I think I will go to Harris ahaha. I was actually slightly enticed by the incentives that they are offering! But you have just reinforced what I thought all along, that HWSF is the best option out of the three!

I just can't wait to meet you and everyone else, like I said in another reply it is also just me and one other person from my school so I am very excited at the prospect of making new friends lool! :-)

I cant really choose between my first choice and HWSF, both seem to be great. I just put that school as my first choice because its much harder to get into.

Further Maths: A*-A**
Biology: A-A*
Chemistry: B-A
Physics: A*
Economics: A-A*
Computing: A*
History: A-A*
Art and Design: A-A*

However my mock exams have proven that i need to do quite a bit of work to get those grades.
What are your predicted grades?

Wow; people who are getting into this school seem to overall get great results. I have a feeling that the offer isn't a problem for many of us lol. Cant wait to meet all of you; My friend told me there is going to be some kind of induction day in July for prospective students.

Don't worry; the subjects people are getting A*s at wont matter in A-level, because you are playing at your strenghts. If someone get C's and B's in every subject but get As or above in their subject; they are not under average, they are specialised and awesome in what they do best. I'd rather be good in one thing than be a jack of all trades.

10 A*'s and 1 A  I achieved 9 A*'s and 2 A's in my mocks so I'm hoping to get all A*'s by GCSE's. Although I doubt it considering I recently got a C in English Literature :colondollar:
Are you definitely going to go to HWSF?

Ravenclaw or Slytherin; I'm not exactly "Brave" or "Loyal"; I do what i need to do (that sounds so much worse in writing) :'( . What about you?

Good luck on getting A* in English Lit too! And yes, I am definitely going to go to HWSF, unless something happens... Meteorite, Alien Invasion, Muggle War (which bombs HWSF)...

We seem to be quite similar! Slytherin or Ravenclaw for me too, I'm ambitious and value intelligence! My favourite character is Voldemort! He was shaped into the 'monster' that he was by his childhood in the orphanage, so he's only partially to blame... What about you? :colondollar:

Voldemort seemed like a great character and the idea of horcruxes really did bring out the evil from him; however, Severus Snape or Draco Malfoy were my favourite characters. Severus' eternal loyalty to Lily made me really feel sorry for him; especially when we find out that he saved Harry so many times. However I liked how Draco's character changed throughout the story; in the First book he is just a spoilt kid who merely get brainwashed by his parents; however he slowly became more aware to the truth and became more vulnerable; but then just got blackmailed. Both characters were not bad or they changed their ways; that's why I find them awesome! Voldemort just represents typical Humanities escape attempt from death; which has quite a historical reference; which I find cool as well though.
Has anyone heard of NCS the Challenge, its kinda like DofE, is anyone planning to do it?

Did you notice the similarity between Voldemort and Hitler? Both faced some sort of mistreatment or neglect in their childhood. Thus Voldemort grew a resentment towards muggle-borns and Hitler developed distaste towards Jews. Both felt they were superior and special. They grew up to be feared yet admittedly powerful figures. Voldemort means 'flight of death', find that pretty cool too.

-I already do DofE, and I want to do NCS The Challenge but my lazy friends don't want to sadly! Still might to do it! You?
