Is economics (BA) totally useless?

I fear that my degree is totally useless and will not earn me a job.

What fields can I go into? Is it possible to earn an okish living with it?

Nope. Some employers may be stingy by the fact that you have a BA rather than a BSc but these are probably those that pay like £40k.

If you average a mid to high 2:1 or a first. Then you are as likely to find a job as any other student. This is where other factors come into play i.e. work experience and interview skills.

Your degree is not useless.

Though, I do have to warn you that the job market is very tetchy so it'll be hard to get onto a mid level paying job without being tied to a graduate programme of some sort. Just once you graduate, be sure to take any opportunity you get and keep searching for them.

How different are the BA Economics and BSc? I do BSc and it's a very Maths-y, I'm guessing BA isn't very mathematical?

'Supposedly'
Each course is different. There's no set requirement of maths content.
You can pretty much choose modules to minimise maths content and still get a BSc.

It just depends on how hard working you are.
Anton Kreil has only got a BA in Economics too. Yet he's 'ballin'.
But if want you an average paying job then the degree doesn't really matter.

Same, this year ruined me. So much stuff happened and a lot of disengagement on my part. Most of this years modules did not interest me and I'm unhappy about my dissertation topic.

Do you think I should resit a relatively easy exam that I got 62 in?

Far Too early... We were only informed about the actual exam 3 weeks before it took place

If you can get a 1st in it or if it'll pull up your overall average to a 2:1

Otherwise no, 62 is a good mark.

Wow. Are you allowed to retake exams at your own discretion?
My uni doesn't allow that, you can only retake an exam if you fail and they cap your mark at 40% (unless you have a valid concession),

I have clinical depression and

Hence I have mit circs if I believe I would have done better. I personally think I would have done much better especially regarding that I got one of the lowest scores on the exam. :s
