I have no idea how this paper will go. I'm getting mid 60s on the past papers but it all seems a bit too easy. I have a feeling the 5/6 mark 'explain' questions will be the death of me.
Also

-Capacitors with capacitances C1 and C2 connected in series gives 1/Ctotal = 1/C1 + 1/C2
-Capacitors with capacitances C1 and C2 connected in parallel gives Ctotal = C1 + C2

(this is the opposite to resistors)
To join in the death of me conversation, I won't be revived after tomorrow's exam

F = mv^2/r and F = Bev

so mv^2/r = Bev

rearranging, r = mv^2/Bev

I get the explanation in the mark scheme. But why doesn't the lamp flash when the switch is closed? Surely the sudden surge of current is as good as the sudden cut of current?

Is it not because it creates the e.m.f. instantaneously so occurs for only a short period of time?

But that's the same for opening the switch. That's why it only flashes.

When it's closed no emf is induced and only 1.5v travels through, not enough to exceed the 200v required.

Edit: but if you flicked it from open to closed it would flash the same.
Guys, during the anhiliation of electron and positron, do we always multiply by 2 in the calculations?
Do you guys think there will be a spreadsheet question?

could someone please briefly explain magnetic flux?and flux linkage? and what flux cutting is?

also when do you use the thumb rule or the left hand rule
