Can someone explain what oxygen debt is?

Question above^
It's when you speak so much **** you're obviously an oxygen thief so people ring you asking for their oxygen back.

You mean anaerobic respiration?
It's when you get more oxygen than you can afford.

when your body requires more oxygen than is availible. Hence the title.
it's not necessarily about the body as a whole
the term op mentioned is used in relation to muscles.. that's how they cope when we make an extra effort

oxygen debt is when you're short of oxygen and usually happens after exercise

oxygen is required to neutralise the lactic acid produced during anaerobic respiration

When anaerobic respiration occurs with aerobic respiration an oxygen debt builds up. This means your body is short of oxygen and usually happens after exercise. It builds up because glucose is not completely broken down to form carbon dioxide and water. Some of it is broken down to form lactic acid.
