SF sent to debt collector

Hi, I'm slightly panicking because for some reason student finance has decided that they over paid me. Rather than try to contact me to ask for the money back they have sent it to a debt collector who is threatening court action and bailiffs etc.
First of all, I don't think they did over pay me. They've provided no evidence to show me how it's happened.
I have several learning disabilities and I'm deaf.
I don't have £9000 to give them. I don't work.
Can I get some suggestions on what to do because they refuse to deal with me.

Thank you. I did try already to speak to them via email. They just don't want to engage with me. They won't explain anything. They just keep telling me to deal with the debt collector.
Someone else has suggested putting in a complaint and then that way the debt collector will be on hold until my complaint is looked in to. So I'll get that done soon.
