This recruitment process verges on torture. No start date, no communication, no precise timescale for checks. Left completely in the dark and just told to wait. I'm surprised people haven't had mental health issues because of this process.

Lol calm down guys, i've heard of some cs role taking 18 months for clearance.
Update for me: provisionally offered O role mid-August in Liverpool after not getting through to stage 3 of TSP last year. Took ID, etc in a week last Friday and received an email to fill in the DBS/health form today which I did straight away. Hopefully not long to go now! Can't wait to hand my notice in at my current employer! Haha

Please if you have any contact on how to submit the DBS pls let me know.

Hey, did you ever find out about what to do with the DBS? Also, how long did it take to come through after you filled in the information? Did mine almost two weeks ago and not heard anything yet

You do nothing after filling the DBS . DBS usually take around 6-8weeks . Mine took 9weeks before I received further email that my checks has been complete. Hopefully , DBS could do better than before

The email is also in my civil service jobs portal. I filled in the DBS in the 'next stage' link.*

9 weeks?! The standard waiting time is 4 weeks! I wanted to be starting soon! I go away mid December and I was hoping for no clashes with start date or starting like the week before! Think I might look at temp jobs for between now and then as it's just too long of a wait with no real income. This whole process is a nightmare!

Quick question about the health deceleration form, do you complete this yourself or get the doctor do this and also where do you send the form off?

You complete it yourself. But you have to wait until they contact you and ask you to complete it and will then give you an email address to send it to.

Im just hoping they honour the holiday! Especially as the start date seems like it's going to be very close to the time I go away. Atleast we're both in the same position. What location have you been offered?

Went to hand in docs today.when I asked how long for checks they said "how long is a piece of string" and start dates are late October/ early November.

However the guy did say dates are subject to change as management don't tell them anything.

Its getting even more weird... How can start dates be late oct early nov, when there just starting pre employment checks which take 1 month +, and then have to give us 1 month notice before we start. I guess the ' subject to change' clause is definitely something the'll use.

Can I ask you how this worked? I'm interested in applying for tsp 2017. I've seen this mentioned elsewhere. Does this mean if I pass stage 2 tests; I could be offered an O position? Do they interview at a lower level for this?

Applied for TSP, done the application & stage 2 tests but didn't get to assessment centre and was added to reserve list. Got an offer for an O position now without any interview. Not sure if thats the same for everyone being offered or if it will be similar next year but would definitely recommend applying.

Hi, yes you're correct - no interview, but I did have to prove I had a degree.
