Applying for the same company but at a different location than my current job?

Hi. I've just accepted a job offer from Greggs, and I've yet to attend the induction. However, I've applied for a job for a Greggs that is much closer to me, in Bradford. Do you think my current manager will be mad at me that I've decided to apply for a Greggs that isn't a 2 hour journey instead? I don't know whether to tell her by phone or in person...

It was the nearest job available for me, as I'm under 18 at the moment.

You should speak to your manager about a transfer before applying from scratch.

Do your induction, be brilliant, then say the travel is proving impossible and ask for a transfer. You need to show your value first and then you'll have a far easier conversation.
