Nope. The new GCSE is fully exam-based.
How hard are these new exams? Any previous takers' opinions?

I'm taking French for GCSE but I'm only getting half of the lessons in the class due to complications with my timetable, but on top of that I get 1 hour of 1 on 1 tutoring with a student teacher up until Christmas, and a lesson to tutor myself.

Well, there's still speaking, which is an NEA, (non-exam assessment, what they call coursework on the new specifications, really) but writing is now done in an examination.

The new spec speaking NEA is nothing like the speaking coursework on the old spec though where you could blurt out a memorised monologue though...
