Confused by aqa science grades

So, i'm a year 11 student and I've been given by mock results which i got a 5-5 and we've been told that we now only get two grade in science instead of three separate ones and I was just hoping someone could explain this.

Btw i'm doing science trilogy(higher)

You don't do triple: you do what is kind of a "combined science" which is basically an easier course.

Well, I don't know if they still do this, but I got one grade for Core science and the second for Additional science (both part of combined science).
You should take a look at the AQA trilogy specification.

I wasn’t trying to be patronising, but as I said, if you read through the website it explains what you’re doing. If you only get “2 science grades” rather than bio, chem and physics all seperate = you can’t be doing triple. Triple has 3 grades. Unless your school is doing something weird for the mocks¿ idek

trilogy is different to triple hahaa my bad i misread. either way, the website explains it

You are doing Combined Science which is made up of a mixture f Physics, Chemistry and Biology and is a double award GCSE, i.e. worth 2 GCSEs . You will get a double grade for it, e.g. 6-6 or 5-4. It contains less content than doing separate GCSEs in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

No. There is no specification for Core or Additional Science any more, there is dual award Combined Science. 6-5 will be a better overall mark than 5-5 and a worse overall mark than 6-6.

Your post said that the first grade is a grade for answering questions on core science and the second for answering questions on Additional Science, Current candidates:

Have not studied the specifications for Core Science or Additional Science

Do not have one grade calculated on their performance in the first half of the exam and then the second on the second as you imply.

May never have heard of Core or Additional Science as they are obsolete.

And you think I have brain damage.
